Internet in my life.

I think young people of today can’t live without the Internet.

As for me, I use the Internet to watch films and communicate with friends. I also read news in the Internet instead of reading newspapers. The Internet helps me to find information very quickly. Some people think that there are a lot of fake in the Internet, but I believe if you are critical about things you find there, you will see  if the information is true or not.   

  

The Internet gives us a lot of opportunities to visit foreign countries without leaving your flat. Many people have no money or sometimes they have problems with their health and can’t go abroad and enjoy amazing sights. The Internet enables them to see the best museums, galleries and gives people a chance to have a look at towns and cities, architectural monuments and famous works of art.

The Internet helps us to find friends all over the world. We can contact each other without problem. Some people think that it’s less likely to have a lasting friendship in the Internet, because everything moves fast and changes all the time. But I am sure that it isn’t true, because if people have common interests they will maintain their communication and even friendship in real life. 

I like painting and I have many friends in the Internet who share my interest. We discuss our new works and paintings, different methods of graphic and drawing, new exhibitions. We communicate with each other not only via Internet, but in real life too. But the Internet gives us a chance to talk more often.

The Internet also helps me in my studies, especially in my English and Japanese lessons. I prefer to watch Japanese and American films without subtitles. I like downloading unadapted books and read them when I have free time. I also want to add that the Internet helps people who live far from big cities to buy books or gadgets online, for example.

You can use the Internet not only for study and work, but for fun. There are a lot of online games in the Internet and you can create your own teams. I think it develops esprit de corps and comradeship.

To sum it up, we can’t imagine modern life without the Internet. So, I think the Internet gives us a lot of benefits and we should appreciate the Internet and appreciate the opportunities which it gives us.

Homework №3. Interesting book for reading.

I never judge a book by its cover. Before choosing a book, I prefer to read the synopsis first  carefully and sometimes book reviews. I think I’m lucky, because books that I choose are always very interesting.

I tend to choose books by contemporary authors and I’m really happy when my favorite authors bring out new books.

One of these authors is Tanya Huff. Her first novel is one in a line of a brilliant new contemporary fantasy series. This novel is called “Smoke and Shadows” and now I’d like to tell you a few words about it.

The main character of this novel is Henry Fitzroy who actually was a real person, the illegitimate son of Henry VIII. Fitzroy was born in 1519 and died in 1536. The premise of this series was his real illness and "death' which was the result of a vampire bite. He rose from his grave to live on as a vampire, aging very slowly.

The Smoke novels focus on Tony Foster, but Henry is still a large part of Tony’s life, even though Tony moved out of Henry's apartment. In "Smoke and Shadows", Tony, who works at a TV studio, discovered that the special effects technician was in fact a wizard from another world and that the Shadowlord from her world was invading Vancouver. With Henry's help, they defeated the Shadowlord.

There are two more books in this series. It’s Smoke and Mirrors and Smoke and Ashes.

In "Smoke and Mirrors", Tony became trapped in a haunted house, but Henry was unable to help him.

In "Smoke and Ashes", Tony ran into a woman who was a demongate, and Henry took up the struggle with this demon with the help of his knowledge of demons and his grimoire. колдовская книга (заговоров и заклинаний)

And now I want to tell you about my impression of the first book in the series. This book has a very dynamic development of events. It’s about uninterrupted struggle with evil. It’s a story about true friendship between two men.

I have a liking to the main characters of this novel. I think that Henry is a very attractive, engaging and intelligent person. Tony is really witty and hilarious. I can say that they are the complement of one another. Wise Henry always can set Tony in the right way.

To sum it up, I’d like to hope that my favorite author will write a lot of new novels because I think Tanya Huff is a very gifted and prolific Canadian writer. I think she writes very exciting books and I always want to carry on reading her books for hours.

Homework №2. My language learning experience.

I want to tell you some things about my methods of studying foreign languages.

I think when you study foreign languages a keen interest and a willingness to work hard have great significance. People who have perseverance and discipline will be successful in learning languages. You should be receptive to what a teacher is saying before you achieve a success.

For me, it’s really essential to learn foreign languages for my future job. It will help me to work with complex texts, to participate in meetings, to negotiate and make telephone calls with confidence. Learning foreign languages helps us to adapt language for different situations. 

On the other hand, learning languages  is very useful when you want to visit foreign countries.  It’s really interesting to communicate with new people, read foreign books, visit theatres and cinemas and narrate some of events which happened with you and your friends later.

During your study it’s really important to find a good teacher. I think that a good teacher should understand students’ individual needs and encourage them to be creative. A good teacher is should have patience and love for his work. He should be good at convincing and have  good communication skills to interact with students, be able to listen well to a student’s concerns, answer questions well and explain something that students might not understand.

Of course as many people as many learning methods. But I think the best way to learn a foreign language is to do a little reading, a little writing, a little speaking and a lot of listening every day. Nobody learns a language the same way and I strongly believe that each person could find their own learning method. Some people think that the best way to learn a foreign language is to go to a native speaking country and I fully agree with them, but it’s necessary to have some basic knowledge in the language to go abroad. It’s really a good idea to live abroad maybe for a year or two to improve your language skills and start to speak fluently.

I also think that making mistakes is a part of learning process. Without mistakes we can’t improve our language and understand our weak points. Our progress is impossible without making mistakes. We should always correct them, but not  be afraid of making new ones , because these mistakes show our progress in learning languages.

There is one more important thing. You should be an organized person. You shouldn’t waste your time and never leave your homework to the last minute. You should always have priorities and try to do all important things as soon as possible.

Well, to sum it up, you should take control of your life and educational process, try to do your best and if you do your work in the best way you will be successful.
